Overseas High School Exchange History in English.pdf

    We have two high school exchange programs every year. One of them is a week-long cultural exchange with Clarkston High School in Michigan, USA. Our students give presentations on Japanese culture in Japanese classes there. Not only do they enjoy experiencing how host students amuse themselves after school, but also staying with an American family. This program includes an exciting three-day sightseeing tour in New York. The other exchange program is a six-day cultural exchange with a high school in Australia. Participants take lessons in ESL and give presentations to Australian students on our culture. Also, students go on a day and a half trip, an additional charm to this program.
 
         
    Regarding the acceptance of overseas students, we host Clarkston High School every other year. It is wonderful that a lot of students can host the same student that they have been hosted by. The two-way exchange between Higashi and Clarkston enables us to cultivate friendship with each other.

All Japan Educational Model  UN Conference
    Two students participated in the heated discussion on "Nuclear Disarmament" in the Model UN Conference, which was held in Tokyo.

Cultural Exchange with Chiba University Foreign Students
     　
Hosting Malaysian high schools and a Taiwanese high school
            
    We hosted SMK BUKIT JELUTONG(34 students, 4 teachers) on December 5, 2014 and SMK SRI SENTOSA(16 students, a teacher and a parent) on September 18, 2015.
    Also, Taipei Municipal He Ping High School(32 students, 3 teachers and a translator) visited our school and we enjoyed the cultural exchange with each other.

Visiting SMK SEAFIELD ー a Malaysian high school in 2018

    5 students from our school participated in the Chiba Prefectural International Exchange Program(Malaysia Visit) and 28 students from 6 high schools visited SMK SEAFIELD in summer in 2018. Chiba Higashi students took a biology class and introduced Japanese culture in the last 30 minutes.

    We received a well-organized heart-warming welcome from SMK SEAFIELD.
SMK SEAFIELD ー 2019
    5 students from our school and a teacher visited SMK SEAFIELD this year again by participating in the Chiba Prefectural International Exchange Program(Malaysia Visit). 29 students and 6 teachers from each school joined the program from 8/18~8/24.
